BELOTERO® lasts up to 18 months,1* dissolving gradually on its own. Your healthcare professional will assess and advise you on your subsequent treatments.
*Treatment longevity depends on the BELOTERO® product used and individual results may vary. The effect of BELOTERO® Volume has been shown to last up to 18 months.
It’s important to discuss what outcomes you’re looking for with your healthcare professional so they have a clear understanding of your expectations. When your BELOTERO® treatment is performed by a skilled practitioner, with an appropriate amount of HA Filler, your results will be natural-looking.2
This is very unlikely if the treatment is done by a fully qualified, experienced healthcare professional and a good quality HA Filler like BELOTERO® is used.3 You should also avoid pressing, rubbing or massaging the area for a few days and follow the after-care instructions given to you by your healthcare professional.
While you can’t have a physical addiction to HA Fillers like BELOTERO®, some people can develop an unhealthy obsession with them.4 This is more likely if they have body dysphoria or mood disorders.4 If you’re concerned, it’s important to discuss this with your doctor or healthcare professional.
It’s highly unlikely you will get ‘overstretched skin’ from BELOTERO® treatments. This is because your healthcare professional will only use very small amounts of it — between 1 and 3 mL — for most treatments.
This isn’t due to HA Fillers, it’s often a result of a phenomenon known as ‘perception drift’. Social media is awash with retouched or filtered images of people, distorting our sense of reality and perception of what people actually look like.5
This can lead to some people thinking they need to change more than they actually do. That’s why it’s important to work with a trusted healthcare professional who prioritises natural results that are tailored to you.
During the treatment session, the product is injected into the specific area of the face to be treated, typically using a fine needle or cannula. The treatment is quick, usually taking about 30 minutes, but it might take longer if multiple areas are being treated in the same session.
Straight away. Once BELOTERO® has been injected you will see its effect.6,7
Like any facial filler, there may be slight discomfort while it is being injected, but it can be reduced with the application of an anaesthetic cream or injection of local anaesthesia beforehand. The BELOTERO® range of fillers includes a local anaesthetic to reduce the sensation of pain and improve comfort.
There is little to no downtime associated with a BELOTERO® treatment. Some patients experience swelling or redness after dermal filler injection(s), which usually subsides soon after treatment. Most patients return to their normal, daily activities right after their visit. Every patient is unique, so be sure to discuss your plans during the consultation with your healthcare practitioner.
Avoid applying makeup during the first 12 hours after filler injections. Avoid saunas, hot tubs, prolonged exposure to the sun, UV rays and extreme cold temperatures for two weeks after treatment. You may also want to have a follow-up appointment with your practitioner around two weeks after the initial treatment to check everything is as you expected.
BELOTERO® typically lasts for between 6 and 18 months depending on the specific type of filler injected it is not permanent.1,7,8 The duration depends on many factors such as the area being treated, skin type, skin condition, metabolism, lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended.
Injectable hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler. Treatment is also reversible – your healthcare practitioner can introduce an enzyme called hyaluronidase to the treatment area to dissolve the material. Please note that there are some risks, though, so you should discuss this with your healthcare practitioner.
BELOTERO® is based on hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin. This means there is a low risk of an allergic reaction,8 and no preliminary allergy test is necessary.
There are, however, some reactions related to dermal filler injections that may occur.8 These include slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising and pain at the injection sites.8 These reactions are generally mild-to-moderate and disappear shortly after the injection(s), typically within one or two days.8
Other rare reactions are possible.8 Prior to treatment, your healthcare practitioner will inform you about the possible risks and side effects.2 Be sure to let them know if you have any allergies, especially to lidocaine, before treatment. You should always discuss any side effects or post-treatment reactions with your healthcare practitioner.2
You should avoid treatment if you have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients.17 If you tend to develop keloids or granulomas, or have inflamed or infected skin, you should forego treatment.17 BELOTERO® should not be injected over permanent implants.17
Please inform your healthcare practitioner before treatment if you are taking anticoagulants or suffer from a systemic disease (autoimmune disease, diabetes, rheumatism or endocarditis).17 Your practitioner will decide whether treatment is advisable for you.17 Treatment with BELOTERO® is not recommended for pregnant women, breast-feeding mothers or adolescents under 18 years of age as there is not sufficient experience with it in these groups.17
Delayed-type Inflammatory Reactions (DIRs) are rare immune responses that may occur between two weeks and a couple of months after the use of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.9 These reactions are more likely with fillers that are made with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW-HA).9 BELOTERO® HA fillers do not use LMW-HA10 and, to date, no cases of DIR have been reported in published medical literature.*

Yes, the face naturally returns to normal as dermal fillers around the eyes gradually dissolve over time. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like BELOTERO® typically last for between 6 to 18 months, depending on the treatment area and individual factors such as your skin type, skin condition, metabolism, lifestyle and age.1 As they fade, the treated areas gently revert to their original shape without sagging or unevenness.
It’s generally best not to touch or apply make-up to parts of the face that have been treated for the first 12-to-24 hours. You should also avoid strenuous exercise and consuming alcoholic beverages. Drugs or other substances that increase coagulation time (eg. anti-coagulation, anti-platelet, or thrombolytic medications, aspirin, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) should also be avoided for three days after treatment.
‘Crow’s feet’ is a common term for the fine lines and wrinkles that occur around the outer edges of the eyes. Consult your healthcare professional about using a product like BELOTERO® Balance, which gently fills fine lines and wrinkles, helps your skin retain moisture, and integrates seamlessly for natural-looking results.11
It’s very much up to the individual – there is no right or wrong time. Many people begin in their late 20s to early 30s to prevent fine lines from deepening, while others opt for dermal filler treatment later when lines tend to become more noticeable. Biomimetic dermal fillers like BELOTERO® mimic your own skin’s properties to help it stay smoother and more youthful looking.7
BELOTERO® HA Fillers achieve predictable, natural results that are visible straight away.7
Cheek dermal fillers like BELOTERO® Volume typically last from 6 to 18 months,1 depending on individual factors such as your skin type, skin condition, metabolism,
lifestyle and age. Over time, the filler gradually breaks down and is absorbed by the body. Regular maintenance sessions can help extend results and maintain facial balance.
The curves formed by the cheeks are defining features of the face. As our skin loses some of its elasticity and volume with age, these curves can change and the cheeks can appear more hollow.¹¹ Careful use of a hyaluronic acid dermal filler such as BELOTERO® Volume can help restore volume and enhance symmetry.¹¹
- Restores fullness lost due to aging, restoring youthful facial balance
- Cheek augmentation improves definition of the cheek structure
- Improves skin hydration
- Lasts for over a year on average, naturally breaking down over time1

Chin fillers are generally safe, but like any cosmetic treatment there is a risk of side effects. The most common ones include mild swelling, redness or tenderness at the injection site. In experienced hands, HA fillers like BELOTERO® Volume offer predictable, natural results with minimal downtime and a very low risk of complications.7,8
Chin augmentation involves the precise placement of an injectable dermal filler into the chin or lower jaw area to enhance facial harmony and balance. BELOTERO® Volume helps improve chin projection and shape, correct asymmetry, and smooth out irregularities.11
Lip filler injections are an effective way to enhance the shape, volume and definition of your lips. Depending on what enhancements you are looking for, your practitioner will use the most appropriate BELOTERO® hyaluronic acid dermal filler and carefully inject it into targeted areas of the lips and surrounding skin. Because BELOTERO® contains hyaluronic acid, it also helps maintain hydration and elasticity in your lips.13
After having treatment with lip enhancement fillers, it’s best to wait at least one hour before drinking water and avoid hot or alcoholic beverages for 24 hours. You should also refrain from using straws or eating spicy foods, as the treated area may be sensitive.
If administered by a skilled practitioner, BELOTERO® lip enhancement fillers are unlikely to cause any serious problems8 at all. However, it is common to get mild swelling, tenderness or bruising around the injection sites for a short time. Please make sure you discuss the risks before having any treatment with your practitioner.
